I’ve been following seasonal jobs in wildlife biology for nearly fifteen years now. It hasn’t made me rich or given me any semblance of a normal, stable life, but I am replete with stories and memories. I’ve held addresses in at least twelve states, and somehow have managed to pick up two bachelor’s degrees (biology and English/writing).
This blog is a good way for me to keep some momentum to my goal of writing frequently. I’m trying to be published in more traditional print media, but so far have had little success.
I have nonfiction published in Oregon Literary Review, have poems forthcoming in both Clackamas Literary Review and Whitefish Review, had a poem displayed on the Juneau bus system for a year, and been in print for The Methow Naturalist and EOU’s The Voice.
Although I was born in Vermont, I feel that I know the West better than the Northeast. And I seem to keep finding my way back to Washington.
Daniel — couldn’t find your email from when we worked with you to post your great wolverine stories on North Cascades Institute’s Chattermarks blog, but I wanted to let you know about this cool wolverine presenation we’re putting together in the fall. Details at http://www.ncascades.org/get_outside/speaker_series/. Seems like something you’d be interested in!
